She is here! That is right SHE!!! Most everyone had it in their heads that this would be a boy. Well not this time! We love her so much already and she is perfect!
Saturday evening I was scheduled for an induction. (at my Dr. visit Wed I had lost 8 lbs and by blood pressure was high). After we did bath and bed time routine we tucked the kids in and then headed to the hospital around 10pm. We had Jack Warren's brother come over and spend the night while we went to the hospital. I checked in around 10:20 and they had me hooked up to an IV by 11pm. My nurse Becky (the same nurse that helped me deliver Autumn aka best nurse ever) then started the PIT. after about an hour and a half the contractions were coming strong and fast around 2 to 3 minutes apart. I then got my epidural from T.J. the funny Anesthesiologist. He had me laughing with some of his stories. once that kicked in I rested a bit as Warren, my Mom and I watched Tower Heist. During that movie we were laughing so much my water broke! At that point I knew we were having a baby for sure!! i was at a 5 and 80. Once they cleaned up all the water we settled back in and started to watch The Help. About 20 minutes before the end of the movie I was feeling so much pressure! Becky came into check me and i was 10 and 100! Go time! they called the Doc and started to set up. The pressure kept on coming and i could feel her moving on down. SO crazy! About 15 minutes later Dr. Huish Arrived and in the stirrups I went. Becky told me "on the next contraction to push" and when i did, down slid baby into the crowning position! Wow! That was so fast! In that same contraction i pushed 2 more times and out came baby. Yes that was it! Start to baby was 5 hours. and that is with no contractions or anything when i got to the hospital. I was impressed!
She weighed in at 6 lbs and 13 oz and 21 inches long. Prefect and pink and very mellow. Her Daddy is totally in love and a baby hog for sure. I don't thing i held her for more than 3 minutes in the first 4 hours of her life. Warren loves to snuggle her. I think it is the sweetest thing to hatch him fuss over her and make sure she is comfy and warm just melts my heart!
I had a bit of repair done so i am pretty sore these days. So I am loving all the extra help! I did not have stitches before with the others so this has been a new experience.
My Mom and Warren went home to get some rest after I was all settled into my postpartum room. They got back home before the kids were still asleep. They were so tired. Baby and I got some much needed rest to.
In the late afternoon the visitors rolled on in. We still had no name for her so once Warren came back to the hospital we started the name game once again. this time it was much easier now that we had a little face to look at. Her middle name is obviously after me and the first name is one we both loved which let me tell you was very rare. I do have to say that after nine months of searching for names and deciding on one for a boy and never being able to come to an agreement on a girls name. I think we did a good job in the end tho.
Late afternoon on Sunday Hunter and Autumn came to meet Emerie for the first time. It was so sweet! My mom took them to get flowers for the baby before they arrived and they were so excited to give them to her. Autumn of course came in saying she wanted to hold "her baby". Oh and she LOVED her baby! Hunter came in wanted a hug from met. Love my little guy! Autumn went straight for the baby and asked to hold her. Autumn is so in love with "her" baby!
Emerie And I stayed in the hospital until Tuesday afternoon. Warren came to pick us up while my Dad watched the kids at our house.
It felt so nice to be home. With my own bed and no nurses waking me up at all hours of the night i knew i would sleep great. Did I mention that Emerie is a prefect baby and sleeps 6 hours at night. oh yes!
Warren's mom came from Tuesday night through Monday. The kids loved reading all the new books she brought. They had various outings with dad to keep them occupied while I rested at home with the new little one.
