Project # 1 Girl up the car seat

After starting out our little family with a boy I bought very gender neutral things, so i thought. When I got out the infant seat to wash and make ready for the new baby I felt that it looked more Boy than neutral. Off to Joann's Fabrics I went in search of a solution. I stumbled across the cutest fabric in the world and decided to create a cover for the car seat. With no pattern mind you.

Here are the results! What do you think?

Weekend at Grandma's and Grandpa's

This weekend we decided to venture down to Tucson for a few days. It has been a few months since our last trip. Saturday morning Annette and I went to the fabric store to get the rest of the fabric for baby girl's nursery and a few small project fabrics as well. We then took a break and went swimming! It was so hot we all needed to cool off. Normally we would put swim shorts on
Hunter but for grandma's house there need be no privacy. Naked baby swimming it is! I just love those little bum checks.

Warren teaching Hunter how to swim

Grandpa and Hunter splashing around

they were playing hide and seek....so cute!

Then we came inside had our Eegee's (the BEST drink ever) and watched Colaline . In 3D!
Which is why we look so cool!

Ok are YOU READY.... Drum roll please

We had our appointment today to find out the gender. After waiting 30 minutes we finally get called back. The Ultrasound lady takes her time scanning over the baby and measuring every inch of it.

Then she asks " would you like to know the sex?" YES! and she said you are having a little

GIRL!
Can you believe it! Warren made a girl! We are just so excited and I do have to say, a bit shocked. Warren just kept saying "Are you sure". I am not so sure he thought it was possible. We are just so happy! And for those of you who need hard evidence here it is...

We are all alone...

Our last house guest moved out Friday. I have spent the majority of today cleaning and rearranging things. After i cleared out Jack's room I felt a bit empty. He was the reason I made such big meals for dinner every night. ( now what?) Boy can he eat! But at least I know i have a little baby coming to fill the room (hence moving everything out so I can paint!)

Having Lauren and Jack here this summer was great for Hunter. He loved the extra play mates and WE loved that they liked to entertain him. Oh how we will miss our free babysitters! They are off to bigger and better things so I can not be to sad. We will miss you guys. And so will a particular short man who constantly checks BOTH rooms now and only comes out confused. It is cute but so sad.

We love you guys and hope you both have a great school year.

I am Back! and it's a long one

As you all know we are expecting again! Which means i have been sick as a dog and barley moving. But no worries the worst is OVER!! now i can focus on the fun parts of pregnancy, like getting fat. Ha..

Now to recap our summer.... where to begin? Oh Hunter had his FIRST birthday! Can you believe it my little baby is 1! We had a small little party for him. Like he knew any different. He got a lot of fun toys and played with some of his cute little friends. I do have to say the cake was a hit! He tore into it like there was no tomorrow. And that is also were we announced our second little blessing was on it's way. Were else do you get both sides of the family together with out anyone expecting a surprise.

This is how we told our families.

We opened gifts so late that Hunter was just not into it.

On his actual birthday we went to Tucson for the day
and he got to open Warren's parents gift. This was his
face after he unwrapped it.

This is the cake I made. It is a caterpillar if you can
not tell. It was one of his favorite toys his first year.

Sugar over load...

After his birthday we have been keeping busy. We have gone out on the boat several times. Hunter loves it now that he has gotten use to the life jacket.

At the end of July Megan's Grandma Dee came to town. She was in Flagstaff for a day on her way back to California. So Megan's dad, Vanessa and her son Gavin, her sister Lauren and Megan and Hunter all loaded into Wayne's motor home and went to see her. We all had so much fun. We rented a Yurt for a night. It is a circular tent that sits on stilts and has beds and a wood burning stove inside. The kids loved playing around the yurt and getting dirty. We all enjoyed our visit with Grandma and said good bye to her that next morning as we all went home. It was short but a great escape from the Phoenix heat that's for sure.

That next Wednesday Megan's Oldest sister Jen and her family came to town. It was so nice to have all of them hear. We normally get a few hear and there. They had never been to the Grand Canyon before so they wanted to go. That weekend we loaded up again and headed north. we camped out friday night just out side the park. We set up our tents and made s'mores! They are my favorite camping food. So gooey and delicious... The next morning everyone went on a hike from the south rim to a 3 mile post and back. Connie and Megan watched the three young-ins and played in the pine needles. It was a great day. We left around three to head home. Hunter slept the whole way! He was so tired.

We had our annual Ward camp out the week after so we headed North again but only as far as Clint's Well this time. We set up put sturdy tent once again and ate home made scones by the camp fire. We talked until about 10 pm and headed of to bed. Hunter had not been feeling well that day so we had a rough night with him. So much for sleep. That next morning we got up earl to help make breakfast. Yummy pancakes and eggs. Warren was flipping pancakes all morning and hunter and I went on a little walk. We had found him shoes that FINALLY fit his feet so he could walk around all by him self. Megan's cousin Peter and his family are in our Ward so after we all left the camp out we headed over to Megan and Peter's Grandparents camp site for a short visit. It was so nice to see them. It had been a while since we had been together. We had lunch with then and stayed about an hour. The little boy's were all so tired and needed naps so we headed home once again. This time we were not so lucky. Hunter screamed almost all of the two hour trip home. We found out the next morning that he had a nasty virus in his mouth. Their was puss blood and swollen gums. I will spare you pictures of that. He is feeling a bit better this week so my hope is that he is finished with that mess.

And lastly one of our to house guests this summer has moved on. Megan's sister Lauren has been with us since April for her internship for school. She has gone to stay with her parents this last two weeks she is hear before school starts. Hunter still goes into the room she was in and looks around with a very confused look on his face. I think he misses her all ready. They are good buddies.

Our second house guest Jack leaves on the 21st. Then we will be back to an empty house. I then will have to start decorating the new baby's room and putting things back where they belong. I do have to say we will miss the free babysitting. It sure has been nice having the extra help around hear while i was still in the morning/ all flipping day long sickness stage. Thank you guys. We will miss you.
