This past week has been a hard one for me. I found my self asking WHY more than i think a normal person should! It started off with a 5am wake up call with vomit in my face and all over my bed. Thank you Hunter...good morning to you too! (literally vomited into my mouth) Several loads of laundry later and a killer Migraine that hung around from the day before we sure weren't off to a good week. Autumn over flows the bathroom sinks at least 4 times in one day. Dinner was never ready on time if i even made it at all. And did I mention that Autumn single handedly destroyed a flooring store with grape seed oil....! (long story short food wise and the flooring store share the space) I as a mom had NO more patience . Children scaling cabinets for crayons so they can draw on the counters and table... AGAIN. A toddler who will only poop in his under ware and then put it into the toilet with his hand. YUCK! And a little girl who screams louder than i have ever heard for just about anything.
With a Husband who is busier with work than ever lately I am on my own most days and nights. Needless to say I am starting to unravel.
I have been working of this "skill" of patience for a while now and I do not feel like I am getting any better at it. I often pause and think "is this just normal behavior for children or are mine super special and hear to drive me crazy"! Don't get me wrong I love the little cuties but I am more frustrated than ever!
My battle with Migraines has returned with a vengeance and most days it is all I can do to stand with out wanting to vomit. Oh the joys of being a mom... I am trying a few new things to deal with the migraines and hopefully that will give the the energy to be even more patient with my little ones. But for now I will be the crazy woman who lives in Gilbert who doesn't leave her house in fear of one of the children destroying something of screaming so loud they make an old man completely deaf.
....one very tired mom

I also struggle with patience, and I don't even get migraines. I completely understand and often have the same thoughts and questions. I hope things improve and you can get your migraines under control!
I don't know if you've tried Vitamin B2 for your migraines but that's something to look into! I recently started taking 400 mg per day and it seems to help! It's apparently a fairly new study that shows it can help.
Good luck!
Melinda, i will try anything at this point! thanks!
I love a good vent. I'm feeling the need to have one of those posts myself.
From one mom to another, when you feel yourself coming to the edge, go into survival mode. Simplify simplify. I don't think we learn patience in the trial, but when the trials are over, you find that you are stronger. Endurance seems to bring patience. When the next trial comes along, you'll find yourself better equip to handle it. But while you're making it through today, never be afraid to go with the sanity saving frozen pizza. Bless the maker.
Hope you get some migraine relief soon!
Hang in there!! You're a great mom. Maybe take them out to a park so they can just run around and get out all their wiggles so you can have a nice afternoon nap. Or, call someone close to you, visiting teaching friend and see if they can watch them for awhile for you so you can get in a little you time too.
